BTS: A peek from today's product shoot with C&C valves

Here's a view behind the scenes of my on location product photography shoot with C&C valves! I'd started off with everything on a shooting table but as I was finishing up placing the products my table started creaking. These products were so heavy that they almost broke my table! Luckily I was able to get the heavy products off before all 300 lbs of it came crashing down on the floor or my feet. I ended up having to finish the photoshoot on the floor because it was the only thing we had that could support everything.

It's interesting how challenging photographing product on the floor can be. All of your lighting has to be redone to account for the bounce you get off the floor. On top of that, you rarely have light stands short enough to get that low. I had to get a lil creative. But the image turned out great and I think they will be very happy with it!

Thanks to C&C for another great photoshoot! Working with this company has a pleasure and I can't recommend them enough. If you are in that side of the oilfield industry check them out www.candcvalve.com

Thanks for reading and until next time, go out and explore! It's too nice out waste it!

Shoots Before Shots

I made the decision recently to make a photograph of the things that I am purchasing before I use them... A few hours later I came to the realization that I buy way too much stuff.

So I settled on just the pretty things.

This image is the first of this project and one of the hardest bottles I have shot. Between the thick bumpy glass, metal stopper, and semi shiny label it was a real challenge. But in a way, it made the reward at the end taste even better! And I have portfolio work to boot! Not bad for a nights work.
